FTP का पूरा नाम File Transfer Protocol है यह एक client program है यह protocol TCP/IP protocol की help से file को send और receive करने का काम करता है।

FTP एक ऐसा Protocol है जो कि दो systems के बीच file को transfer करने के लिए set of rules यानी नियमों को निर्धारित करता है।

FTP का उपयोग

FTP का उपयोग एक computer से दूसरे computer में file को transfer करने में किया जाता है इसका उपयोग एक mobile से दूसरे mobile में file और data को transfer करने में भी किया जाता है।

FTP के लाभ

1. FTP की मदद से multiple files को एक साथ transfer कर सकते हैं।
2. FTP का use करके files को तेजी से transfer कर सकते है।

FTP के हानि

1. सभी ftp server में data encryption की सुविधा नही देते है।
2. इसमे आपको simple UI(User interface) नही मिलेगा इसमे आपको URL और IP address का use करना होता है इसलिए files को share करने में  कठिनाई हो सकती है। 
3. FTP का use करते time कुछ Devices आसनी connect से नही होते हैं। जैसे कि mobile को computer से connect करने पर connection failed होना।
